A push/pull system is ideal for metal-working and fabrication applications that cause high volumes of welding fumes. As the fumes rise, they become trapped between the inlet and outlet ducts causing the outlet duct to push the fumes toward the inlet duct . The inlet duct will pull the fumes through a filtration system and the clean air can be returned to the workshop. A push/pull system is mainly used in three different situations: A large work area A place where the welder is changing locations frequently When extraction at the source is difficult.
